Book 1: Expressing Emotion – Year 5, Year 6

Integrating The Arts – Expressing Emotion for Years 5 and 6 explores the Inquiry Question: How do The Arts help us express emotion? The concept of Emotional Expression is explored through each of The Arts subjects: Drama, Music, Dance, Visual Arts and Media Arts to understand how each Art subject facilitates the expression of emotion. Integrating the Arts series is compatible with the v9 Australian Curriculum. Expressing Emotion is a teacher resource that includes an overall unit plan, lesson plans for each subject, assessment ideas, prepared hand-outs and assessment criteria. This unit may be presented holistically or partially depending on the time and subjects being taught, at the discretion of the teacher. The unit may be easily adapted to Arts programmes for higher year levels.
