Book 2: Let’s Go To The Zoo – Prep, Year 1, Year 2

Integrating The Arts – Let’s Go To The Zoo for Prep/Foundation, Years 1 and 2 explores the Inquiry Question: How do The Arts help us understand animals? The concept of animals is explored through each of The Arts subjects: Drama, Music, Dance, Visual Arts and Media Arts to understand how each Art subject facilitates the expression of animal behaviour, sound, emotion, movement and more emotion. Integrating the Arts series is compatible with the v9 Australian Curriculum. Let’s Go To The Zoo is a teacher resource that includes an overall plan, lesson plans for each subject, assessment ideas, prepared hand-outs and assessment criteria. This unit may be presented holistically or partially depending on the time and subjects being taught, at the discretion of the teacher.
